Meet the Team at Elko Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Austin Kreiser completed his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University before advancing on to the University of Arizona’s College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with his D.V.M in 2023. Here, Dr. Austin met his now wife and co-veterinarian, Dr. Brandee. In 2021, Dr. Austin attended Oklahoma Horseshoeing School.

Dr. Austin enjoys working with large animals. He is available for farrier work, including specialty shoes and pads. He also enjoys practicing internal medicine and orthopedic surgery in small animals. Dr. Austins advice to owners is to have questions prepared for your veterinary staff to answer at your appointment. This allows owners to leave satisfied with the quality of care provided, as well as allows for a better quality of care to be provided at home going forward.

Outside of work, Dr. Austin enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and generally being outdoors.

Dr. Brandee Kreiser completed her undergraduate studies, as well as earned her D.V.M from the University of Arizona in 2023. Here, Dr. Brandee met her now husband and co-veterinarian, Dr. Austin.

Dr. Brandee is especially interested in preventative medicine and diagnostic imaging. She enjoys the variety of species that working in a mixed animal practice offers, as well as the mentorship provided by working alongside senior veterinarians. Participating in 4-H since she was a child with project rabbits, Dr. Brandee is passionate about rabbits in a clinical setting, as well as in general rabbit husbandry. She also enjoys working with goats and kittens (and other neonates). Her advice to owners is to never stop learning about the proper husbandry and care for your pets: “Keeping them healthy stems from knowledge, good husbandry, and annual wellness visits with your veterinarian to ask questions, have a thorough exam performed, and in most species’ annual vaccinations. This aids in disease prevention and early disease detection for a better quality and quantity of life for your pet.”

Dr. Mike Perchetti received his Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where he served on the Student Advisory Council and as a member of the Aggie Club. In Veterinary Medical School, he graduated with honors in Large Animal Surgery from Ohio State University. He served as the President of the Food Animal Club and was a member of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Colic Team, and Dystocia Team. He was active in intramural sports and worked in the Equine Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Perchetti is grateful for the education, practical experience, and knowledge he gained while at Ohio State University.

Currently, Dr. Perchetti is the co-owner of Elko Veterinary Clinic and enjoys small animal primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and dentistry. He has a special interest in orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.

He is a member of the AVMA and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and a past member of the Elko Rotary Club. Dr. Perchetti is an avid hunter, fisherman, and guide. His hobbies include wildlife photography, hiking, and horseback riding. He also spends his time tending his other businesses, which include ranching, raising Quarter Horses, and beef cattle.

Dr. Perchetti is an active member of Nevada Bighorns Unlimited, Elko Bighorns Unlimited, and The Wild Sheep Foundation. For the last 18 years, he has been actively involved with Elko Bighorns Unlimited and is currently the President. This is a volunteer sportsman group dedicated to the conservation of Nevada Wildlife. He volunteers many hours participating in Bighorn Sheep captures and disease surveillance. He has traveled to Alberta, Canada to assist the Nevada Department of Wildlife in the capture and transplant of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep into the Rocky Mountains and East Humboldt Mountains.

Dr. Perchetti is a native Nevadan and grew up in Tonopah, Nevada. Dr. Perchetti has a wife, one son, and two daughters. All of them enjoy spending time in the outdoors and on the ranch together. Both daughters are accomplished in gymnastics and running. Mikkala, his oldest daughter, was a state champion and made 1st team all-state as a freshman at Spring Creek High School. Mike’s wife, Tina, is a co-owner, broker, and agent for LP Insurance. She enjoys running marathons, hunting, and fishing with her family.

Dr. Timothy Warner graduated 4th in his class from Washington State University Veterinary Medical School in 1997. His special interests lie in small animal medicine and surgery. He is proficient in laparoscopic surgery, arthroscopy, fracture repair, cranial cruciate ligament repair (using the TPLO method), regenerative medicine, abdominal ultrasound, and echocardiography.

Dr. Warner is originally from Boise, Idaho where he grew up with a Brittany Spaniel and yellow Labrador Retriever. He spent four years working in Alaska before moving to Elko. Dr. Warner is happy to be back in the lower 48 where he can explore more of the outdoors and be closer to his family in Idaho.

Outside of work, Dr. Warner enjoys being active, hiking, working out, golfing, mountain biking, and basketball.

Deanna has 26 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine. She was raised around a variety of animals, small and large, and raised her daughter similarly. Deanna attended the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) as an Animal Science major before switching paces and enrolling in the College of Southern Nevada’s (CSN) Veterinary Nursing Program where she obtained her Associates Degree. Over the years, Deanna has continued to obtain numerous Continued Education (CE) credits in numerous veterinary medicine topics. She is passionate about being a voice for animals since they cannot speak for themselves, as well as doing everything in her power to make sure pets make a full recovery so they can go home to their family. Deanna’s advice to owners is to make yearly wellness exams for all your pets. This aids in keeping them as healthy as possible and in early disease detection. She also recommends to learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of pain in pets, as they tend to be stoic and do not display pain in an obvious manner.

Deanna enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, team roping, and spending time with family and friends. She is always looking to learn something new or a new adventure.

Christina began working at Elko Veterinary Clinic in 2020 as a Client Care Representative. Over the years, she worked her way up to management and Team Lead of our Client Care Representative team. Christina is currently working towards her Associates Degree and Human Resources Certificate to better herself in her current management role, as well as generally. Christina’s advice to owners is to vaccinate your pet to prevent the spread of disease.

Christina enjoys spending time with her family, son, and cat, Bobby Boucher.

Averie has been working in the field of veterinary medicine for 6 years. She started working at Elko Veterinary Clinic as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant while going to school at the College of Southern Idaho’s (CSI) Veterinary Technology Program to obtain her license. Averie obtained her license in 2021 and has been working as Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) since then. She is most interested in emergency/trauma care and surgical preparation, monitoring, and assisting. Averie is passionate about advocating for animals that cannot advocate from themselves. Her advice to owners is to properly vaccinate your puppies and kittens to set them up for a healthy future.

Outside of work, Averie enjoy spending time with her husband, hiking, hunting, and photography.

Kiawnni has always been passionate about animals, especially dogs. As Lead Kennel Technician, Kiawnni prioritizes patient-centered care above all else in a clinic/boarding setting. She values the knowledge and experience she has gained while working at Elko Veterinary Clinic, as it far exceeds caring for boarding patients. Kiawnni’s advice to owners is to start socializing your pet at a young age, it will only continue to benefit them in the future.

Kiawnni’s hobbies include spending time with friends, reading, and quality time with her dogs and cats.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Jessica grew up on her family’s ranch in Tuscarora, NV. She has always been fond of all aspects of ranch work and animal husbandry since childhood. Jessica earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from California Polytechnic (Cal Poly) State University, she then went on to attend College of Southern Idaho’s (CSI) Veterinary Technology Program where she earned an Associates Degree and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Before coming to Elko Veterinary Clinic, Jessica worked at Idaho Equine where she gained invaluable experience. Her advice to owners is never own a horse if you do not have the means to transport them to medical care, in an emergency or otherwise. She also recommends keeping up on yearly wellness exams, as it is easier to prevent disease than to deal with progressed disease in a time of need.

Wyatt has an innate love for animals that was fostered by being raised on his family’s ranch outside of Wells, NV. He knew at a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine because it would allow him to continue working with animals, as well as be able to utilize his skills and knowledge on the ranch. He is particularly passionate about animal husbandry and large animal medicine. Wyatt attended the Academy of Equine Dentistry in 2017 and earned his certificate as an Equine Dental Practitioner in 2019. During those years, Wyatt apprenticed in both Ireland and central California. Upon finishing the program, Wyatt moved to Los Angeles, California to work as an Equine Dental Practitioner for the horse racing tracks around Southern California. While in Los Angeles, he attended a Veterinary Technology Program and graduated, but has yet to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) to become credentialed as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Wyatt now works as our Equine Dental Practitioner, as well as a large animal technician. His advice to owners is to schedule routine dental care for your pets, large or small. Like many, Wyatt did not realize the problems that could and do arise from neglecting dental care in pets. “Even though your horse may be fat and look healthy, that does not prove the conditions of their mouth. Just because a horse is capable of eating, does not mean they are enjoying it. A horse will fight through pain to figure out how to eat.”

Outside of work, Wyatt’s life revolves around upkeeping his family’s ranch. He enjoys the time spent with his horses and dogs, who he utilizes for work, but also for pleasure.

Courtney has 10 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. Courtney is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician Program to become Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). She is most passionate about providing emergency/trauma care, as well as radiology. Courtney finds joy in watching all the happy, healthy tails going home at the end of the day and to have been a part of their wellness journey. Her advice to owner is to take your pet’s on as many outings as possible because our time with them is limited.

Outside of work, Courtney enjoys reading and spending time with her family and animals. She also loves weekend getaways.

Jess developed a deep love and passion for animals through a childhood involved in 4-H, FFA, and rodeo. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) as a Veterinary Medicine major, as well as the College of Southern Idaho’s (CSI) Veterinary Technology Program. Jess is passionate about client education, as well as preventative care. Her favorite animals to work with are exotics, especially avians, and large animals.

Her advice to owners is to never stop learning about proper husbandry and care for your pet. Doing so will lessen the likelihood of illness and disease, better their quality of life by means of proper enrichment and nutrition, as well as many other benefits.

Jess enjoys spending time with her little family, gardening, chicken keeping, and horseback riding.

Sami has 8 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine. Her love of animals has been fostered since a young age, raising her own animals, as well as being involved in Junior and High School Rodeo. Sami is passionate about patient-centered care, as well as client care. She feels it is of utmost importance that pets are comfortable and as well cared for as possible while in her care, and that owners feel at ease knowing that their pets are in her care. Sami is particularly interested in the care of puppies with parvo-virus, as they need a lot of love, care, and compassion to make a recovery. Over the years, Sami has adopted 2 dogs through Elko Veterinary Clinic, Penny and Beatrice, who were dumped and in critical condition. They are now living their happily ever after with Sami and her husband, Logan.

Madison is currently enrolled at the University of Wyoming and is majoring in Livestock Production and Management and minoring in Equine Science. Her goal is to eventually operate her own equine reproduction facility. Madison enjoys working with both small and large animals within a clinic setting. Her advice to owner’s is to avoid impulse buying a pet; research their breed/species characteristics and needs prior to purchasing them and to be sure they are a good fit for your lifestyle.

Outside of work, Madison enjoys hiking with her dogs, horseback riding, fishing, and floating on the lake.

Ashley has been working in the field of veterinary medicine, alongside her mother, Shana Sutton, since she was 15 years old. She worked as a receptionist and kennel technician prior to becoming a veterinary assistant. Ashley is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician Program to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).

Ashley enjoys working with any and all animals. She believes in the importance of listening to and advocating for animals so they do not go unheard. Ashley enjoys providing client education to improve the quality of care provided and ultimately, the overall quality of life of a pet. She also believes (thanks to a life with a wonderful dental advocate, Shana) that a healthy mouth, is a happy mouth. It also provides less stinky kisses and greater quality of life for your pet.

Lily has been working for Elko Veterinary Clinic since 2022.She started as a kennel technician and surgical assistant before becoming a veterinary assistant. She intends to further her education with an end goal of earning her D.V.M. Lily chose to pursue this career because she grew up around animals and has always admired the work veterinarians put forth into the care of her pets, along with others. She is most interested in preventative care, as well as handling exotics. Lily’s advice to owners is to never be afraid to ask questions.

Outside of work, Lily enjoys spending time with her friends, exercising, and reading.

Mary’s love for animals was fostered throughout her childhood by being raised around a variety of different breeds/species on her family ranch, participating in 4-H, as well as in FFA. She pursued a career in veterinary medicine because she would like to continue to help animals live a happy, healthy life. Mary received her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Utah State University. There, she successfully participated in the Beef Ambassador Program. Mary is most passionate about large animal medicine, but also enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine too. Her favorite animals are cows and dachshunds, or “weenie dogs.” Mary’s advice to owners is to enjoy every minute your pet.

Outside of work, Mary likes reading, running, and helping out on the family ranch.

Reganne developed a love for animals at a young age. She participated in Junior Rodeo, as well as in FFA. Interested in continuing her education, Reganne took Animal Science and Equine Science classes in high school and in college. She is most interested in patient-centered care and animal husbandry. Reganne deeply enjoys and never tires of caring for all our furry patients, but is especially passionate about horses. Her advice to owners is to spay and neuter your pet, doing so will prevent life threatening illness and disease.

Reganne enjoys hunting, camping, fishing, and reading.

Rylea has 2 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine by working at Elko Veterinary Clinic after school hours or during summer breaks. After high school graduation, Rylea intends to pursue a formal education in Veterinary Medicine with an end goal of obtaining her D.V.M. She is most interested in emergency/trauma care. Rylea is passionate about this career because it allows her to help people and their pets on a daily basis, as well as fuels her love for animals. Rylea’s advice to owners is to help your pet maintain a healthy weight, so they can live a long, healthy life!

Rylea enjoys spending time with family and friends, learning, and hiking.

Vanessa has always loved animals, but feels especially connected to dogs. She chose to pursue this career because she enjoys connecting with the community and interacting with the animals. Vanessa enjoys the variety the job brings to the table, whether that be species, breed, personality, etc. Her advice to owner’s is to enjoy the time spent with your pet; they are here for a good time, not a long time.

Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, and generally being outdoors.

Lexi can be found behind our reception desk, where she is happy to be helping our clients and their pets. Lexi enjoys the variety of pets that she gets to meet while on the job, as well as the connection she makes with regular clients. Lexi’s advice to owners is to research the breed/species prior to purchase or adoption.

Lexi is passionate about writing and painting. Often, her doodles can be found throughout the clinic.

Mary likes the interactions that are presented by working as a receptionist. She also enjoys the variety of breeds/species that she gets to see on a day-to-day basis.

Outside of work, Mary can be found crocheting or reading.

Zoey thoroughly enjoys meeting owners and their pets. She decided to pursue a career in this field because she is passionate about providing care to animals in need. Zoey’s advice to owner’s is to love your pet unconditionally; they are only here for a short time.

Outside of work, Zoey enjoys cooking and crafting.

Azeneth developed a love for animals throughout her childhood. She wanted to gain further experience, as well as learn more about proper husbandry and care through a job in veterinary medicine. Azeneth’s advice to owners is to research and educate yourself on a potential pet prior to purchase or adoption.

Outside of work, Azeneth enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, as well as working on her floral business.

Ciera was raised around many species of animals and ranching. She is passionate about continuing her education, as well as hands on experience with animals. Ciera is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician Program with the goal of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Her advice to owners is to practice responsible pet ownership; get annual wellness exams and vaccinations, spay/neuter your pet, socialize them from a young age, and make sure they are safe while at home and when travelling. Doing so will benefit yourself and your pet greatly throughout your life together.
